Sanitation & Hygiene Specialist

Position Objective:

The Sanitation & Hygiene Specialist will assist PSRA manager in managing Community Sanitation Partnership Activity under Private Sector Responses Activity (PSRA) that being implemented in several project areas.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure that sanitation and hygiene activities are conducted by grantees in accordance to the workplans reflected in the Partnership agreement.
• Monitor grantees activities which are related to sanitation and hygiene on a regular basis, including technical compliance site visits, support grantee in the development of the grantee/sub monitoring plan (need be).
• Provide technical inputs and findings from grantees field activities and advise PSRA manager with resolution and recommendations for grantees’ corrections.
• Work with PSRA manager for verifying grants settlements in line with the corresponding project milestone/deliverables for sanitation related deliverables.
• Review the grantees’ training modules for sanitation to ensure that they reflect quality in accordance with MCA-Indonesia guidelines. If they do not, work with the grantee to revise the modules so quality is assured.
• Providing feedback and input on sanitation technical messages developed by the grantee with respect to the existing MCA-Indonesia sanitation campaign that will be conducted.  Adhere to PSRA grant operations manual (s) that outlines relevant policies and procedures for implementing the financial management of the grant.
• Coordinate with grantees in implementing sanitation and hygiene activity in line with MCAIndonesia policies.
• Coordinate with other similar projects, funded by the Government of Indonesia Budget and/or with other donors to ensure that activities are complementary and not duplicative.
• Performs other tasks as may be identified throughout the duration of the compact and the Health Nutrition PSRA project.

Requirement:

1. Education, experience and technical competencies:
   • Bachelor Degree in Public health or environment or others relevant field
   • Minimum five (5) years or more of professional work experience with five (5) years in sanitation and hygiene is preferable.
   • Experience in working with local or central Government of Indonesia, donor, private sector and NGOs.
   • Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia (speaking, reading and writing) is required and fluent in English are desirable. This will be confirmed during the interview phase. 2.
2. Personal attributes and competencies:
   • Good interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrated ability to effectively interact and collaborate with people/stakeholders in multidisciplinary teams as well as work across departments, divisions and institutions.
   • Good facilitation and liaison skills.
   • Good in personal organization, planning and priority setting. Have good initiative, is focused and result oriented.
   • Strong attention to detail and to maintaining a high-quality standard.
   • Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and to take initiative, and has high integrity and the ability to exercise good judgment.
   • Demonstrated flexibility and capable of managing a variety of tasks with minimal supervision.
   • Values the continuous improvement and learning.

Terms and Conditions:

• The appointment will be for a period until the end of Compact Program on April 2, 2018 with the option to renew the term during the closure period of MCA-Indonesia (Compact Program) upon satisfactory review of the services by MCA-Indonesia to the professional.
• The duty station will be at MCA-Indonesia Office in Jakarta, Indonesia.
• We will provide competitive remuneration commensurate with skills and experience.
